New guide for Getting started with Weavy

We updated our docs to make it easier for you to dive into the basics of what you need to know to quickly set up Weavy the right way. The guides are always based on the latest release of Weavy, starting with Weavy v29. Forget your previous knowledge about setting up Weavy components and use the updated guide to get better structure, simpler code, faster loading and fewer bugs.

"The guide really includes everything you always needed to know to get the best Weavy configuration!"

Starting with Weavy

We combined our JavaScript tutorial with our getting started guide to create a comprehensive resource that covers every aspect you should consider when setting up Weavy. For each step we've added detailed information about everything you need to know to create a robust and future proof setup. You'll always find the insights required to make technical and structural decisions based on best practices.

We've also included some additional basic steps to help you quickly adapt the components to your app, such as providing the most common styling to match your theme.

All our getting started guides consistently cover the following areas:

  • Requirements - Everything you need in place to be able to setup a complete Weavy configuration.
  • Weavy Account, Weavy Environment and API key - How to register a Weavy account, create a Weavy environment, and generate an API key.
  • Environment Variables - How to store the URL and API key for your Weavy environment.
  • User Data and Authentication - Connecting your users to Weavy and setting up secure authentication.
  • Importing the UI Kit - How to install, load, and import the Weavy web components library.
  • Weavy Configuration - How to provide a configuration for Weavy web components using your environment details.
  • Creating Components - How to create Weavy web components and how to place them in your app.
  • Styling components - Applying basic styling to make the components match your theme.

See the Getting started with Weavy using web components to learn everything you need to know.

Starting with Weavy using React

For a Weavy setup using React, we guide you through using our tailored UI kit for React. You'll learn about TypeScript, hooks and contexts available to make your setup easy as a breeze. The guide also covers what you need to know to use Weavy with React Server Components (RSC), React Server Actions and Server-Side Rendering (SSR) when working with frameworks like Next.js.

  • Hooks - Use hooks for configuring Weavy in your React components and avoid common pitfalls of managing class instances in React.
  • React TypeScript - Provides all the types you need to work with React using TypeScript.
  • React Compatibility - Enhanced React compatibility, both forward and backward.
  • SSR Compatibily - Built-in compatibility for Server-Side Rendering.

See the Getting started with Weavy in React to learn everything you need to know about using the Weavy React UI kit.
