  • UI/UX: How well is the user interface / experience executed combining the app with the framework? (0-30 points)
  • Originality: How original, creative, unique, or innovative is the end result? (0-20 points)
  • Value: How much will your users benefit from this? (0-20 points)

What is the 5 <hackathon/> rules?

We know some rules are meant to be broken, but you should probably (read: definitely) stick by these:

  • Fresh Code: We all start coding at the same time. It’s cool to work on designs beforehand, digital mockups, open source frameworks, and anything else available to everyone, but keep things within fair limits.
  • Code Review: Winning team may be subject to a code-review at some point following the event or immediately before winning. This is to ensure that all code used is in fact fresh.
  • Ownership and IP: You own your IP and whatever you create. Simple as that.
  • Team Size: No more than five people.
  • Demos: You’ll have 2 minutes to demo the functionality of your project and talk through your idea, and 1 minute for Q&A from judges.

Be courteous and cool to your fellow hackers!

Who can participate?

Everyone, of course! All we need is that you have an app that's published or in BETA, ready to get <embed/> with our framework to create wonders!

And the more the merrier, but max 5 people in your team... but, that's it!

Where and when?

Where: At the Eureka Building in Irvine, CA during the Summer Fest event. 1621 Alton Pkwy, Irvine, CA 92606

When: July 26-27 - see the agenda for details.

What about prizes?

The winner takes it all, right? The winning team will collect $5,000 in cash(!) and the license fee of <weavy/> wavied (worth $35,000) and our partner for this event Microsoft will give you 12,000 Azure Credits.

2nd place will get $1,000 and 3rd place $500 - both will also receive 12,000 Azure Credits from Microsoft.
